Yale’s Colton Center for Autoimmunity Announces 2026 Awardees For Advancing Innovation in Autoimmune Disease Research

The Colton Center for Autoimmunity at Yale University is proud to announce the recipients of its 2026 Colton Awards, grants that support translationally focused research projects that aim to accelerate the development of therapeutics, diagnostics, tolerogenic vaccines, and platform technologies; and to advance the understanding of complex disease mechanisms in autoimmune and allergic diseases.

The Colton Centers for Autoimmunity at Yale is supported by a gift from the Colton Foundation, who recently committed another $2.5M to advance autoimmune aesearch and strengthen the global consortium

This year, nine proposals were selected for funding.

“The 2026 Colton Awardees exemplify the spirit of bold, cross-disciplinary research that drives innovation in the field of autoimmunity,” said Joseph Craft, MD, Paul B. Beeson Professor of Medicine (Rheumatology), Professor of Immunobiology, and Scientific Director of the Colton Center for Autoimmunity at Yale. “By supporting highly collaborative, translational projects across Yale, the Colton Center aims to help catalyze the next generation of diagnostics and therapeutics for autoimmune disease.”

“These awards are designed to help investigators advance promising ideas through key proof-of-concept and validation milestones—positioning projects for partnership, licensing, or future venture creation.
