Stopping Post Menopausal Osteoporosis Before It Starts with a New Biologic: PREZERVE

Fifty percent of women in the US will suffer an osteoporotic fracture in their lifetime. The principal cause of these fractures is accelerated bone loss that begins at menopause but continues thereafter. Safely preventing increased bone loss without impairing the ability of  the skeleton to renew itself, is an unmet therapeutic need. Our nascent therapeutic (Prezerve) directly targets this need. This project will support its maturation by 1. Demonstrating that this monoclonal antibody returns the rate of bone breakdown to normal in ovariectomized mice but does not suppress it below normal. 2. Employing AI-informed modeling to enhance its efficacy.
