A Therapeutic for Pterygium and Corneal Neovascularization
Pterygium and corneal neovascularization affect 700M+ people globally with no FDA-approved medical therapy. Surgery is the only available treatment for pterygium but recurrence occur in up to 35% of cases. Through single-nucleus multiome sequencing of 17 patient samples, we identified an inflammatory amplifier cell that drives recurrence. We are developing a topical antibody fragment targeting this amplifier. Our program addresses the recurrence-driving inflammation that current approaches do not address.
