Yiviva
Yiviva is a clinical-stage Yale spinout pioneering a systems biology approach to cancer and complex aging-associated diseases.
Yiviva's lead candidate, YIV-906, is a first-in-class botanical drug that acts simultaneously as an immunomodulator in the tumor microenvironment and a cytoprotector in the gastrointestinal tract — widening the therapeutic index of existing cancer regimens by making them both safer and more effective. In a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled Phase 2b study in advanced hepatocellular carcinoma, YIV-906 significantly improved survival (mPFS, mOS) and tolerability. YIV-906 is Phase 3-ready with two FDA Orphan Drug designations, with pipeline expansion across pancreatic, colorectal, rectal, IBD, and metabolic indications.
Behind the asset sit two proprietary platforms: STAR Discovery® (Signal Transduction, Activity & Response) for multi-target drug design, and Mech QC™ for batch-consistent manufacturing of complex botanical mixtures. Yiviva is the third Yale spinout from the laboratory of Dr. Yung-Chi Cheng, following Achillion Pharmaceuticals (acquired by Alexion for $930M).
