The Climate Impact Innovation Fund

The Climate Impact Innovation Fund supports early-stage collaborative projects across Yale focused on reversing climate change and biodiversity loss, and improving environmental health and justice. This is an opportunity for Yale-centered teams to accelerate research, scholarship, and impact.

The fund accelerates exploration, experimentation, development, and implementation of:

  1. Substantial reductions or removals of greenhouse gases from the atmosphere;
  2. Protections to human health from a rapidly changing global climate;
  3. Improvements in environmental economic models, environmental policy innovation, and environmental justice outcomes.

Projects emphasizing engineering, prototyping, and proof of concept work are a priority. The fund supports work on the roots of planetary challenges and ways to address them, including business, financial, and policy tools. This may include the deployment, commercialization, or scale-up of a research idea.
