Mentorship at Yale
Supporting the Yale innovation and entrepreneurship community by creating meaningful connections across our networks is a vital part of our work.
Yale Ventures
Entrepreneurs-in-Residence (EIRs)
Yale Ventures EIRs have deep operational experience and have gone through the process of turning new technologies to new businesses. These experts act as an early “sounding board” for Yale innovators contemplating a new startup. In a logical, stepwise fashion, EIRs help frame both the risks and the benefits of starting a new company, asking relevant questions about everything from the science, to the business, to the market and helping faculty chart a successful path forward.
Investors-in-Residence (EIRs)
Yale Ventures IIRs connect leading early-stage investors with Yale faculty founders to accelerate commercialization through targeted, sector-specific feedback and relationship building. Designed for researchers preparing to bring their innovations to market, the program offers a unique opportunity to engage with experienced investors for strategic input before formal fundraising begins. IIRs offer insight, not investment, and serve as thought partners during one of the most critical stages of venture development.
