John Leamon is a highly experienced scientist with extensive experience in biotechnology, leading people, and projects at every stage of development. John’s 25 years of biotechnology experience span a range of companies, including start-ups (Ichthyox, 454 Life Sciences, RainDance Technologies, Ion Torrent, CyVek, Quantum-Si, and Detect) and established global companies (Qiagen, Life Technologies). His technical experience includes early-stage therapeutics, genomics and sequencing technologies, proteomics, and biomarker discovery as well as assay development at the genomic, proteomic, and multi-omic levels. Most recently, John served as the SVP of R&D Integration at IsoPlexis, where he was responsible for overseeing the company's scientific strategy and leading its research and development efforts.

Thoroughly a product of the Connecticut higher education system, John received his BSc in Zoology from Connecticut College, a MSc in Biological Oceanography from the University of Connecticut (UConn) and his PhD in Neurobiology and Physiology (also from UConn). John completed his post-doc at the Yale School of Medicine with Dr. Paul Lizardi where they designed a microarray-based, single molecule detection assay for prostate cancer diagnosis.

Throughout his career, John has been the author of numerous scientific publications and patents in the fields of genomics, sequencing, and proteomics, and currently serves as a Non-executive Director on the board of Wobble Genomics, a start-up based in Scotland.
