Sung Yeon (he/his)

Sung Yeon is currently an Immunobiology Ph.D. student at Yale School of Medicine developing tools to interrogate epitopes in the tumor microenvironment and understand new mechanisms of tumor escape. He is an Ambassador for Alix Ventures and was previously a Blavatnik Associate for Yale Ventures, helping with commercial strategy for faculty startups. He is the Co-Founder and President of the Yale Biotech Club and is enthusiastic about growing the biotech community in New Haven.

Prior to Yale, Sung worked internships at Illumina and Roche and received his B.S. and M.S. at UC San Diego, where he did research at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies. Outside of work, Sung enjoys searching for the best ramen, triathlons, weightlifting, golfing, and playing chess.

The Yale Ventures team has played a key role in boosting the innovative ecosystem coming out of Yale and I am excited to see this team's future work towards their mission. I resonate with the goals at Yale Ventures and want to work with those who have similar passions to myself. As a Canaan-Yale Fellow, I am most looking forward to learning from the partners at the firm while helping their investment considerations for their portfolio companies.
