Toshinari earned a pharmacist license in Japan upon the completion of his bachelor's degree in the University of Tokyo, and started his professional career at A.T. Kearney Japan office as a management consultant. He has led complex projects that involved multiple stakeholders to achieve innovations for transformative healthcare initiatives. He also worked for the World Bank to lead public health initiatives in Bangladesh. His areas of expertise are in the healthcare and life science industry and business development. He contributed to various intellectual initiatives in the areas of drug development, digital health, organizational changes, financial modeling, drug marketing, public-private partnership, etc.

Toshinari recently enrolled in Yale's Master of Business Administration and Master of Public Health dual degree program and applied in-depth experience and skills in healthcare to issues in healthcare and biotech innovations. He is passionate to drive impact on people's health by challenging the status quo. As a father of one baby girl, he enjoys putting her to sleep every night and plans to take a course at Yale on child development and apply the learning to his parenting.
