This summer, Logan is bringing a rare combination of backgrounds to the Yale Ventures innovation community: a foundation in nonprofit development, a passion for design and marketing, and training in architecture. Currently pursuing an M.Arch at Yale, Logan was drawn to Yale Ventures by the chance to blend that innovation-minded background with hands-on creative work. This summer, that means diving into marketing projects such as sharpening design cohesion across Yale Ventures, designing new branded approaches for presentations, printed materials, and screens, as well as creating innovation-themed Yale Ventures stickers.

Logan's passion for both social and architectural accessibility has shaped their interests since high school, and it continues to drive their curiosity about how spaces can be made more inclusive for everyone. Supporting this passion in school, Logan is working on a construction site for the first time this summer to build a house with their M.Arch I cohort that will be donated to an early childhood educator at the Friends Center for Children here in New Haven.  

A typical day at Yale Ventures is packed and busy for Logan. They can be found checking in on design feedback, bouncing between past, present, and new projects, collaborating with the innovation team, and drinking chai and hot chocolate to stay warm in the office, an essential! Logan works fluidly across PowerPoint, InDesign, Illustrator, and Procreate, but stays rooted in pen-and-paper technical drafting, a skill from their undergrad training that still anchors their process today.

True to their Canadian roots, Logan has been playing hockey since age six and playing para ice hockey in both Canada and the U.S. since 2017. This year Logan has already read 36 books spanning different genres, formats, and even languages! Not surprisingly, if they had an extra hour each day, they would spend it reading.

This summer, Logan’s favorite part of working at Yale Ventures is how members of the team truly enjoy their work. This has been seen through many hours and days spent with the team and engaging in conversations with them. They hope to continue to work in spaces that bring them and those around them joy and excitement.
