Yale Innovation Summit 2023: Announcing our Tracks & Track Leaders

The 2023 Yale Innovation Summit, Yale's biggest entrepreneurship and innovation event, will explore innovation across five distinct tracks—arts, biotech, climate, health, and tech. This year's expanded approach and theme, “Expanding Impact,” aims to reflect both the interconnected nature of innovation and the momentum of our entrepreneurial ecosystem across these areas of impact within the Yale, New Haven, and Connecticut innovation communities.

This year we are pleased to collaborate with several Yale innovation leaders to help curate the programming for each track. Each track leader is producing track-specific experiences with keynotes, panels, and other programming such as pitch contests and special performances that explore each theme and reflect the interconnected nature of innovation across these five tracks.

Arts

Overview

Yale has world-renowned programs and professional schools in arts and entertainment; New Haven has a strong arts development history and burgeoning local arts scene that is gaining a national reputation. The Summit is partnering with Midnight Oil Collective, the New Haven arts and entertainment venture studio, to expand the Summit’s impact into the arts to showcase this extraordinary potential. The Arts track will preview new modes of equitable, sustainable investment and accessible, efficient commercialization pathways to capitalize on this potential and showcase New Haven a global hub for arts and entertainment.

Biotech

Overview

The Biotech Track features 7 panels of nearly 50 leading venture investors and pharmaceutical industry executives discussing the venture investing environment in 2023, breakthrough technologies for drug discovery, and hottest new ideas for therapies to treat cancers, rare diseases, and other disorders.  Entrepreneurs will benefit from panels on how to pitch to investors and how to partner early with pharma. Investors will benefit from connecting with 60 biotech investment opportunities that will be presenting, ranging from pre-seed and seed stage to established late A, B, or C companies in the Connecticut Biotech Showcase.

Climate

Overview

The Climate track will feature some of the most creative, clever and thoughtful Yale alumni working in climate tech and environmental innovation. Hear pitches from current student teams, and get a chance to visit Climate Haven, the new climate tech incubator that is just launching in the Elm City.

Health

Overview

The U.S. healthcare system faces both enormous challenges and opportunities. The Summit's healthcare track will explore three of the most pressing themes the healthcare industry faces today: home health strategy, digital mental health, and innovation in point of care. The track will feature a series of panels, pitch contest, and a keynote exploring these themes, curated and led by subject matter experts with experience as healthcare system operators, payers, investors, and entrepreneurs.
