Steve Simmons currently serves as the Chief Information Security Officer for Orchard Therapeutics, Inc., a leading gene therapy company based in Boston and London that specializes in rare diseases. Prior to Orchard, he worked for AMAG Pharmaceuticals as Executive Director of Enterprise Architecture. Simmons brings more than 25 years of experience implementing innovative digital and cybersecurity solutions and processes, enabling biotech corporations to realize and benefit from their strategic goals. He is a proven team leader and business partner who can identify the appropriate investment, whether start-up or publicly traded company. He has a track record of designing and implementing business-aligned technology in a wide variety of business stages, including all three clinical phases through agency approval as well as all funding stages. 

Simmons’ depth of experience ranges from digital transition and information security planning to enterprise risk, mergers, business process continuity, governance and policy design. This includes expertise in cost control, leadership, and problem-solving skills in the highly regulated life sciences industry. Simmons holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Western New England University and a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
