I see myself as a human catalyst. I bring about change through collaboration.

The effectiveness of such a catalyst depends on two things: who you know and what you know. As an entrepreneur by nature, a lifelong devotee of experience and learning, and the nurturer  of a substantial and evolving human network, it is not a role I play but one I live.

I work one-on-one with thought leaders, helping them as individuals, as decision makers and as  the conscience of their organizations. I speak their language having been a founder or founding  investor in over 20 companies, resulting in the full range of exits, from private sale to IPOs to  purchase by Fortune 50 companies.

I have been engaged by some of the world’s most famous brands, as well as leading academic  ins5tu5ons. My singular desire is to work with organizations that seek to do good.

I specialize in pairing those organizations, groups, and facultes with the world-class people they  need, whether it’s from the perspective of an advisor, an investor, a director, or a part of  management. I have been engaged by over 100 companies on the creation of advisory boards  and sit on many myself. I lecture on the application of both corporate and personal advisory  boards.

Unlike many advisors I do not have specific knowledge of just one topic. My lifelong pursuit of  experience and learning has given me a rather unique perspective. I think I am oPen able to opportunity hidden in complexity, by looking at challenges in unique ways.

When others were in school, at just 13 I was building a million-dollar sports memorabilia  business and training to play professional baseball. I then started four companies before turning  20. I did not learn to be an entrepreneur; I was born one.

I was also born with an insatiable appetite for learning. My personal studies include Critical  Thinking, I-O Psychology, Interpersonal Dynamics, Leadership Development, Conflict Resolution,  and Thanatology.

My strategic skills include Corporate Visionary, New Business Creation, Culture Creation and  Team Building, Ideation and Innovation, Marketing, and Branding Strategy.

I sit on the Board of Directors of Dream Foundation, the only national dream-granting organization for terminally ill adults.

I am Yale Ventures, Entrepreneur-in-residence.

I serve as an advisor to Harvard Medical School (The Division of Sleep Medicine), UCLA Health  (The Division of Geriatric Medicine), Berkeley SkyDeck, Wider Circle, Redesign Health,  eFamilyCare, UCSF Health Hub, CEAL @ UNC, Tabula Rasa Ventures, Challenge America and  As5a.

I am also a mentor at Springboard Enterprises, KidsX Accelerator, Tsai Center for Innovative  Thinking at Yale, Techstars, The Keller Center at Princeton University and Columbia University's  Center for Technology Management.

I practice, and at times have taught, yoga, archery, martial arts, and meditation. I am a hospice volunteer and an End-of-Life Doula.
