Marc Zemel is serial medical device entrepreneur and executive. He founded Retia Medical and Digitouch Health to develop and sell advanced algorithms and sensing technology for guiding cardiovascular care. Retia focuses on high-risk surgical and critically ill patients while Digitouch focuses on cardiovascular health management in the home. In 2021, Retia was selected to Medtech Innovator, the industry-sponsored startup competition, out of over 1200 applicants and was a finalist in the Value Competition. Marc has raised over $25M in investor and non-dilutive capital in his career, led over 12 clinical studies, taken products through FDA clearance and CE Mark, built and led commercial teams, and continues to lead these growing companies as they ramp sales.

Marc has established academic and clinical collaborations with several institutions, including Columbia Presbyterian, University of Michigan, Duke University Medical Center, Wake Forest, Jefferson Hospital, and several others in Europe and the US.

Prior to founding Retia and Digitouch, Marc served at Becton Dickinson & Co. (BD), where he led business development, product concept development and technical due diligence activities for BD’s Anesthesia and Infusion businesses. Marc also previously served Anvik Corporation a startup capital equipment company, most recently as Director of Engineering and Product Marketing, where he led all phases of product development, marketing and sales of laser lithography systems for manufacturing microelectronics. During his tenure at Anvik, he directed a team of 10 engineers and technicians to build 14 different systems, generated a total of $4.4 million in revenue and won grants from NIH, DARPA, MDA, Army, NSF and NASA.

Mr. Zemel earned a BSE from Duke University and an MS from MIT, both in Mechanical Engineering. In 2007, he completed his MBA from the Yale School of Management. He holds 23 patents (issued or pending), and resides in New Rochelle, New York with his wife and three children.
