“The Yale innovation and entrepreneurship community is a critical part of the future of Yale. The Yale faculty are investigating cutting edge scientific and technological advances through their research that can be successfully commercialized and brought to market. The students are also amongst the brightest and have novel ideas for new business ventures. Offering these two groups as much support as possible is an important part of the educational mission. We should be encouraging both students and faculty to solve problems through innovation and entrepreneurship. I am involved via the Venture Lab Fellowship and a separate role supporting student mentoring programs in Tsai City. I view innovation as an important framework to be applied to any problem-solving endeavor and entrepreneurship helps to align the incentives for solving the many problems facing the world today.”
