re+connect (replusconnect.org) is a civic technology initiative designed to build more civically engaged and resilient communities by connecting people and organizations through collective action and shared knowledge. Funded by the National Science Foundation, our platform emerged from hundreds of hours of co-creation with communities in Puerto Rico, demonstrating that strong civic engagement is essential for effective disaster preparedness and response.

re+connect enables everyday residents to lead actionable, community-driven resilience initiatives. By amplifying local expertise, fostering belonging, and facilitating practical daily actions, our platform revitalizes civic participation and builds foundational civic infrastructure that strengthens community bonds.

As cities face increasing isolation and polarization, re+connect applies lessons learned from Puerto Rico to inspire and enable greater civic engagement nationwide. Recognizing that many people seek meaningful ways to collaborate across differences, re+connect creates opportunities to connect communities through shared goals and collective action.
