Ashoka Madduri, PhD, MBA
Ashoka Madduri has expertise in corporate strategy, search & evaluation, competitive analysis, and platform-disease fit; he advises senior executives of start-ups on strategy, forging alliances, investment opportunities, due diligence and led primary interview campaigns with KOLs. He has helped develop strategies in disease areas ranging from rare diseases, oncology, ophthalmology, respiratory with modalities including small molecules, oligonucleotides, antibodies, mRNA. He was a Sr Director of Corporate Strategy and BD at Aviceda Therapeutics and Strand Therapeutics where he worked with executive team on corporate positioning for investment and strategic partnership opportunities. At Wave Life Sciences, Ashoka was a Director of Strategy & Partnerships where he sought and established B2B collaborations to further the companies’ innovation and operations capabilities. Earlier, as VP of Innovation at Integrity Biochem, Ashoka led the acquisition and integration of research platforms, and advised on scientific innovations and strategies to drive environmental sustainability. At HPPE, as the Head of R&D Strategy & Board Observer, Ashoka set the scientific strategy of HPPE, developed the IP portfolio and oversaw the development across all of the company’s product platforms. He regularly participated in board meetings communicating companies’ strategy to the board and investors. Ashoka received his MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management and has a Ph.D. in Bio-organic Chemistry from University of Groningen, Netherlands, where he worked on anti-cancer complex natural products. He performed his post-doctoral research to understand pathways involved in multi-drug resistance in Mycobacterium tuberculosis at Harvard Medical School/Mass General Brigham and served as a VP of Case Competitions at Harvard Graduate Consulting Club.
