Psoriasis and atopic dermatitis are inflammatory skin diseases that are commonly treated with highly effective cytokine targeted therapies. However, these expensive medications have multiple molecular targets are currently used inefficiently in a trial-and-error fashion without taking into account each patient's unique underlying immunology, resulting in suboptimal responses in many patients. We introduce Dermcyt, a novel platform for painless and non-scarring detergent-based skin sample collection combined with a point-of-care lateral flow assay biomarker readout resulting in both an accurate diagnosis and a personalized immunologic profile to guide therapeutic selection.
