From the evolution of cloud technologies to advances in AI and quantum computing, the Tech Track showcases how Yale innovators and global tech leaders are building what’s next—across infrastructure, intelligence, and impact.

The 2025 Tech Track at the Yale Innovation Summit showcases how Yale innovators and global tech leaders are pushing the boundaries of what’s possible—and shaping what comes next. From the impact of AI on the evolution of the cloud to emerging technologies such as quantum computing and advanced sensors, this year’s Tech Track offers a compelling glimpse into the future. Featuring two dynamic keynotes, two cross-track collaborations, and a robust lineup of panels and pitch sessions, the Tech Track explores the core themes driving technology innovation today: the convergence of AI and cloud infrastructure, the rise of quantum and deep tech, the evolving venture landscape, the journey from lab to market to scale, and the intersection of creativity, computation, and human experience.

“This year’s Tech Track is about showcasing breakthrough technologies and bringing together the people and ideas that are shaping the future,” said Claudia Reuter, Executive Director, Engineering Innovation & Director of the Roberts Innovation Fund. “From quantum to AI, we’re exploring how innovation happens when infrastructure, intelligence, and imagination collide—and how Yale and its partners are helping lead that charge.”

Tech Keynotes

Forging the Future: Building a Deep Tech Hub at Yale, in Connecticut, and Beyond will focus on how deep tech innovation has the potential to drive rigorous research and development, significant scientific advancements, and economic growth. Leading this Tech Track panel keynote will be Yale Engineering Dean Jeff Brock and Dan O’Keefe, the State of Connecticut’s Chief Innovation Officer and DECD Commissioner with Rich Jacob, Associate Vice President for Federal and State Relations at Yale University who will share their perspectives on what building a deep technology hub will mean for the future of Connecticut, New Haven, and Yale University.

Scaling Big Ideas: A Conversation with Andy Tang, Draper Associates will draw on decades of experience across venture capital, energy tech, and deep tech to share insights on building scalable startups, navigating global markets, and the evolving role of innovation in solving today’s biggest challenges in this Tech Track keynote.

Tech Panels

Backing the World’s Boldest Tech Founders: Morgan Hitzig, VP Venrock will share her experience as an investor focused on technology companies that intersect extensively with the public sector, especially in the essential national security, public safety, and critical infrastructure verticals.

Cloud 3.0: AI and the Next Generation of Cloud Computing will feature leaders from Yale, Amazon and Google working at the intersection of cloud scale and machine intelligence to explore how AI is reshaping the architecture, services, and capabilities of the cloud—from foundational infrastructure to advanced developer tools and intelligent applications.

Revolutionary Ideas Moving from Lab to Market: Bringing breakthrough research out of the lab and into the marketplace is only the first step — scaling it for real-world impact is the true challenge. This panel will explore the critical stages of commercialization, from early technology validation to building companies that can scale globally.

Innovation in the Age of AI: Artificial Intelligence is not just reshaping technology — it’s redefining the very nature of innovation across sectors. This panel will explore the opportunities, risks, and ethical considerations that come with innovating in an AI-driven world.

Building a Quantum Future: Inside QuantumCT: Peek behind the curtain of Connecticut’s growing quantum innovation ecosystem and the collaborative efforts fueling the next tech frontier.
