James Barone joined Yale Ventures as an Associate Corporate Strategy Officer, focusing on engineering and applied sciences. Prior to Yale Ventures, James spent four years as Director of Development at his alma mater, the University of New Haven, where he strengthened philanthropy among engineering alumni, helped launch a corporate partnership program, and supported the creation of a Women in Engineering initiative in collaboration with alumni, industry partners, and foundations.
James brings more than 15 years of advancement and development experience, including previous service at Yale as Associate Director of the Yale College Annual Fund. He earned a B.S. in Economics from Keene State College and an M.S. in Sports Management from the University of New Haven.
Outside of work, James enjoys spending time with his wife, Kristen, and their two daughters, as well as golfing, going to concerts, tackling home projects, and staying active!
