Our groundbreaking discovery demonstrated that immune responses against Streptococcus pyogenes (the bacteria responsible for strep throat) can be effectively redirected to attack pancreatic cancer cells expressing keratin 17 (K17). K17 is a protein found in over half of pancreatic tumors but is rarely expressed in healthy tissues, making it an ideal target.
